Swirls Wedding Cake and A Helper!

This buttercream wedding cake included three tiers. Two vanilla with buttercream, with the middle tier chocolate with chocolate buttercream. Each tier was decorated with piped swirls in three different colors. I don't usually do just buttercream cakes, so this was a fun change of pace. I was pleased with the result.

My cute daughter is always so patient as I decorate cakes. This time I made her a small cake to decorate for herself. She made piles and piles of frosting on top! Mmmm! I think we have a future sugar artist on our hands. :)

I just finished this cake and have to say it is one of my favorites I have done! I LOVE the giant white flowers. I know the picture makes the cake look blue, but I promise it was a deep purple. The cake was vanilla with raspberry buttercream, and raspberry filling.

I was asked to do cupcakes for a 1 year old birthday party, and they were so much fun to do! I went with a lime green, purple, and bright pink color scheme. The toppers included ladybugs, butterflies, and daisies with yummy flavors as well. All the cupcakes were vanilla, but there were 3 different frosting flavors: lemon blueberry, raspberry cream cheese, and lemon cream cheese! Yum!

I wasn't able to get very good photos of this wedding cake, but the photographer promised me a good one! ;) It looks tilted in the picture, but I promise it stood straight. :)

This wedding cake was covered completely with white fondant and accented with fresh flowers (which the family provided). Flavors included white cake with buttercream and fresh strawberries, chocolate with ganache filling, and white cake with lemon curd and lemon buttercream. The couple also ordered additional sheet cakes! It was a busy weekend! :)

I finished this orange and yellow cake for a wedding open house this weekend. The couple did a great job choosing the design. Flavors included strawberry cake with buttercream and strawberry preserve filling, yellow cake with lemon buttercream and lemon curd filling, and yellow cake with chocolate buttercream. I was very pleased with the result!

It was a white cake with lemon curd filling, frosted with lemon buttercream. This was my first attempt at gum-paste flowers. I know these daisies are basic, but now I'm feeling ready to try more difficult flowers! :)

It was a busy weekend to complete 2 cakes for Saturday! The first was for an 8 year old boy! His favorite colors were brown, yellow, and orange. The top layer was yellow cake with chocolate buttercream, the middle layer was marble cake with chocolate buttercream, and the bottom layer was chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream! That's A LOT of cake! :) I felt bad because I didn't get a very good picture of it. The lighting was too dark.
